Traveller, prestizowy magazyn o podrozach, opublikowal wlasnie liste 108 najbardziej luksusowych, najlepszych wg niego hoteli na swiecie. Na pewno wszystkie sa godne uwagi, ale ciezko jest na blogu ukazac zdjecia wszystkich struktur. Dlatego, poniewaz Traveller oprocz krotkiego opisu opublikowal tylko jedno zdjecie kazdego hotelu, postanowilam wybrac te, do ktorych pojechalabym z zmaknietymi oczyma, mimo ze widzialam tylko jedno zdjecie danego hotelu. Przyjrzyjmy sie im razem.

A prestigious magazine Traveller has just published a Gold List of 108 best hotels/resorts in the world. Every hotel is briefly described and accompanied by only 1 picture. I decided to play a game (as you can imagine, it's impossible to put 108 pictures in a single post!) and choose those hotels where I would definitely go despite having seen only one image. Let's take a look at them together.

My little "quasi" holidays (part 2)

So the holidays are over now. On Friday I came back from Rome. It was pretty hot there (about 30°C) but it wasn't impossible to do some sightseeing. In fact after 3.5 days of continuous walk in the city, I almost didn't walk at all this weekend (used the car to go everywhere), my feet were so sore!

Anyway, let's start from the beginning. First, last weekend we went to Piazza Armerina (famous for the mosaics) and Agrigento (famous for the amazing Greek temples which date back to V century B.C.)



On Saturday night we stayed in this hotel:



Then on Monday I worked and on Tuesday we went to Rome. I love this city even though I have never explored it in summer before and I do not recommend it! Lots of tourists, confusion, and hot weather do not contribute to a relaxing vacation. Nevertheless, I'm quite satisfied, we managed to see all the spots I had planned to see, and most of the tickets I booked online which saved a lot of time! Here are some pictures:

The Best Hotel...

Ladies and gentlemen, let me present you... THE BEST... HOTEL... IN THE WORLD...

According to Forbes it's Villa d'Este Cernobbio in Italy!!!

The hotel is situated on the shores of the Como Lake (Northern Italy), and among the most famous guests in its history we can name: Giuseppe Verdi, Onassis and Maria Callas. Nowadays, with room rates averaging $1400 a night (top suites average $5000 per night), 70% of the clients are of American and English origin. Take a look at the official webiste. To my mind, the website is really bad and doesn't really encourage people to explore it, left alone making a reservation...

And here's my question to you: what are your personal criteria when choosing a B&B or a hotel? If you could, would you like spend a night at this hotel? Or would you prefer something much more modern and "fresh", like Nhow in Milan? Let me know, I'd like to know your tastes... : )

By the way, on Tuesday we're having a Tribute Night to Michael Jackson at my school. We're going to sing, watch and listen to King of Pop best songs. I hope to take some pictures from this unique event for you, guys! : )

Preparations.

Well, I feel much better today. Not perfect well, but I'm recovering step by step. The good news is that I have finally bought the plane tickets for my parents to come to Sicily and we've also decided to go to Rome! So today I've booked the hotel in Rome! It looks cool, very stylish : ) Just take a look! Hope my parents will like it. I want this holiday to be unforgettable for them, really. I love booking the hotels. I think with time I became very picky and choosyand there are more and more things which I consider important in a hotel. One the other hand, with time I also gained some experience. It should be close to a metro station or a bus stop, there should be a good cleaning service and breakfast. It should be in a quiet surrounding so that after the whole day of sightseeing it is possible to sleep and rest during the night (which is sometimes difficult to find in the the city centre), the technical problems (air conditoning, heating, etc) should be resolved immediately, etc...

Today in the evening there will be the second meeting of the "condominio" in my appartment to decide about "the future of our building entrance"... We'll see...

This week the University in Rome confirmed that my final exam will take place in Catania in the end (there's sufficient number of students who declared they wanted to sit the exam there). I feel relieved, no need to book tickets, going to Rome, finding the right bus, etc. But... it's in... 8 days now! I start to panic! The Easter weekend will be soooo tiring! Fortunately according to the weather forcast there is suppose to be the rain and the temperature will drop significantly (it already has, I think).

Ok, it's quite quiet in the office at this time of the day so i think I'm going to revise for the exam now.
