Pancake Sunday and grey Monday...

Juz druga niedziele pod rzad probuje przygotowac pyszne nalesniki w amerykanskim stylu. Maja byc male, puszyste i bardzo smaczne. w zeszla niedziele ciasto, ktore wyrobilam (wedlug przepisu na stronie Marthy Stewart), mialo zbyt rzadka konsystencje i w rezultacie nalesniki przypominaly francuskie crêpes (od ktorych jestem specjalistka) a nie amerykanskie pancakes. Jednym slowem, nie bylo nawet co pokazywac i czym sie chwalic. Wczorajsze nalesniki natomiast, wymagaja jeszcze udoskonalenia, ale juz jestesmy na dobrym tropie. Oto efekt koncowy wczorajszej proby:

Yesterday was the second Sunday in a row when I tried to prepare delicious American pancakes. They should be small, fluffy and very tasty. On the first Sunday, the consistency of the dough I made (recipe taken from Martha Stewart's website), was too liquid and the pancake resembled more French crêpes (in which I am an expert) rather than American pancakes. In short, it was not even worth showing here. Yesterday’s pancake still require some improvements, but we are on the right track. Here is the final result of yesterday's attempt:

Jesli chodzi o dzis, czyli poniedzialek, to tu wielka niespodzianka: dzis po raz pierwszy od konca maja, zaczelo padac i niebo bylo prawdziwie szare. Co prawda tylko przez 2-3 godziny, bo teraz znow swieci slonce, jest goraco i duszno, ale sam fakt, ze przez krotka chwile poczulam sie bardziej jesiennie jest wart odnotowania:

As for today (Monday), big surprise here: the first time today since the end of May, it started raining and the sky was really grey. Well, it’s true, it lasted only for 2-3 hours, because now the sun is shining again, it is hot and stuffy, but the fact that I felt like the fall is finally coming is worth noticing:

Melilli Outlet

Wielka radosc i wielkie rozczarowanie zarazem po mojej pierwszej wizycie w Melilli Outlet. Sama struktura jest imponujaca, polaczenie stali, szkla oraz gra swiatla robi wielkie wrazenie. Wszystko ma przypominac wielka lodz/statek (w koncu outlet znajduje sie na "brzegu" morza). Jednak po wielkim zachwycie, przychodzi ogromne niedowierzanie i niedosyt: nic nie jest jeszcze w 100% gotowe. Otwartych jest ok 10 sklepow (na planowanych 100!), takich jak: Golden Point, Motivi, Guru, Lindt, Difussione Tessile, jakas perfumeria (nieznana mi siec), ksiegarnia i chyba to wszystko! Parking jest jeszcze w ogole nie oznakowany! Adwokaci juz zacieraja rece na nieuchronne wypadki, stluczki i inne historie. Wszedzie widac worki z cementem, piach, murarzy, pracownikow w kombinezonach ochronnych, itd itp. Nie do pomyslenia! Przeciez data otwarcia do zeszlego tyg. nie byla jeszcze znana; czy nie mozna bylo po prostu jej przesunac o kilka... nie, nie tygodni... miesiecy?! Mogli przeciez otworzyc kilka tygodni przed swietami, wtedy wszyscy "rzuciliby" sie  na przedswiateczne zakupy!

Pomijajac te katastrofe, cieszy mnie fakt, ze w koncu bede mogla spedzic caly dzien w jednym miejscu, a nie jezdzic po calym miescie w poszkiwaniu butow, torebek, sukienek, bielizny, pudrow i innych niezbednych mi rzeczy :)

Great joy and great disappointment at the same time after my first visit to Melilli Outlet. The structure is extraordinary, combination of steel, glass and light game makes a great impression. Everything has to resemble a big boat / ship (after all, the outlet is located on the "coastline”). However, after the first thrill, comes a huge disappointment and dissatisfaction: nothing is truly ready and finished. Only about 10 stores (out of the 100 planned!) are open, such as: Golden Point, Motivi, Guru, Lindt, Difussione Tessile, some sort of a perfume shop(of some unknown name), a book shop and I think that's it! Parking is still not marked at all! Attorneys are already rubbing their hands at the inevitable accidents, fender benders and similar occurrences. Everywhere you can see bags of cement, sand, bricklayers, workers in protective overalls, etc., etc. Simply unthinkable! The opening date was not known until last week, wasn’t it better just to put it off for another several… no, not weeks… months?! After all they could open the outlet a few weeks before Christmas, when everyone would go on a shopping spree!

Apart from this catastrophe, I appreciate that I will finally be able to spend all day in one place and not drive all over town in search for shoes, bags, dresses, make-up products and other necessary things :)

My new old dress, outlet and some pictures

Oto moja nowa stara sukienka na poprawiny. Dlaczego stara? Bo to oryginalna sukienka z lat 70-tych, ktora przez lata lezala w szafie Mamy R. I ja ja dostalam! Czyz nie jest cudowna?

And here's my new-old dress for the second day of the wedding. Why "old"? Beacuse it's an original dress from the 1970's which was tucked away in R's Mum's wardrobe. And she gave it to me! Isn't it beautiful?

Poza tym juz w ten piatek otworza dlugo wyczekiwany tu Outlet na licencji Fashion District (to jedna z wiodacych sieci outletow w calych Wloszech). Kazdy liczy na niesamowite sklepy z niesamowitymi obnizkami i rabatami (zgodnie z definicja outletu, wszystko powinno kosztowac od 30 do 70% taniej niz w regularnych sklepach). Niestety nadal lista sklepow utrzymana jest w tajemnicy, miejmy nadzieje, ze nie bedzie rozczarowania. Oto strona internetowa (nadal nie otwarta).

Changing the subject only a little, this Friday the new Melilli Outlet will be opened. It's licensed by Fashion District (one of the leading outlet brands in Italy). Everyone hopes for amazing shops with amazing discounts (between 30 and 70% according to the definition of "outlets"). Unfortunately the list of shops still remains top secret, hopefully we'll avoid a disillusionment. here's the website (still not working).

Czy to zdjecie Di Caprio to nie jest mjstersztyk? To z najnowszego (z pazdziernika) amerykanskiego wydania GQ. Wyglada jak mlody Paul Newman. I ten przeszywajacy wzrok Clinta Eastwood'a... Robi piorunujace wrazenie, w moim skromnym mniemaniu.

Isn't this photo of Leo Di Caprio a masterpiece? From the newest (October) American GQ. He looks like a young Paul Newman. And this sharp gaze of Clint Eastwood... fabulous, in my humble opinion.

 

No i tak zeszlismy na temat filmu. Filmu, ktory jest bardzo oczekiwany i juz wzbudza kontrowersje. Filmu o Marilyn Monroe, w ktorym glowna role zagrala Michelle Williams... Pojawily sie juz pierwsze zdjecia z planu i oczywiscie sesja zdjeciowa do najnowszego wydania amerykanskiego Vogue'a. Pozwolcie, ze podziele sie z Wami moja opinia.

And we ended up talking about movies. One of the (already) most controversial and anticipated films of this year is definitely the one portraying Marilyn Monroe which stars Michelle Williams in the leading role. The first shots and photo sessions have just been published. Of course Vogue was the first one to interview the young actress. Let me express my opinion.

Szukam jeszcze butow na poprawiny (sukienke juz mam, ale o tym pozniej), i trafilam na strone Zary, ktora tej jesieni ma super propozycje. Popatrzcie na te cuda!

I'm still in search for the shoes for the second day of the wedding (yes, we in Poland like to celebrate A LOT). I already have the dress but later on that. I came a cross the new Zara collection. And look at those beauties!
