This is what I would like to be. This is what I believe I can become. Maybe it's a little more difficult since I live in a small town in Sicily. On this blog I want to describe how my life here gradually changes and evolves. Describe my little successes and failures. Enjoy!

Rollercoaster.

I'm on a rollercoaster. Emotionally and physically. I feel elated and I'm walking on air one day and a bit out of sorts the other one. I am up with the larks on Monday and I'm full of energy the whole day and then on Tuesdsay I'm drowsy and would sleep the whole day long. Is it normal?

I'm happy because I'm finally doing what I like: teaching. Preparing students for tests and exams make me happy. Plus, I find time to go to the gym and meet my friends, to arrange things at home and prepare some good soups for dinner. Plus the dog : ) Cannot wait. By the way, thank you all for the comments on my last post. I'll post many pics of Artù, you can be sure of that.

On the other hand, I'm a bit worried about the future. I know the most important is to do what one likes best. But it might not be enough at times. Ok, I lost a job but it's not the end of the world, is it?! My Dad is freaking out about me being unemployed, without a "decent, secure" job that will allow me to have a good pension when I retire. So I start to reconsider. Is money that important? One's well-being is not enough anymore? I'm so sick of his constant asking me if I found sth. Yes, I'm looking, but no luck so far. I have been working for 4 years in the office, mundane, repetitive weeks, no time for myself, only day-to-day chores and tasks and don't want to accept sth just for the sake of my future. I want to cherish this time. I get by, I'm not starving. I'm earning enough to feel comfortable, I'm enjoying myself doing things I had never time for. I can take care of a puppy I have been dreaming of all my life. So please please let me be happy...

I'm back!

Hello everyone! This weekend passed sooo quickly! : ) To my surprise, I managed to entirely follow the program I prepared before leaving! : ) The weather was gorgeous, we stayed in a wonderful hotel and ate delicious food in various bars/restaurants. I love Milan (and Rome too!). If I was to choose I would definitely move to one of those cities immediately. (Un)fortunately "serce nie sluga" (it's in Polish and if translated would be sth like: "the heart knows no master"). In this case, I wouldn't associate this with a person but with a person and his work together. Nevertheless it's nice I have possibility to come back there now and then, to visit various cities and countries, to be able to travel during the holidays. I can't complain, I'm lucky. Please take a look at some of the pics I took and tell me what you think about this city : )

1. The hotel and Navigli

The hotel is situated in Navigli district. According to the travelplan:
"The origins of the Navigli date back to about 1100, but this stretch of water was only made navigable from the Ticino to the center of Milan at the end of the 14th century, to help transport the marble that was needed to build the Duomo. The Milan Wharf, that was an important commercial port for river transport for many centuries, was still working up to the end of the Second World War, and then closed permanently in 1979.
Today the Naviglio Grande and the Naviglio Pavese (that connects Milan to Pavia) make up one of the most charming places in Milan, with the old, typical “case di ringhiera” houses, antique shops and hundreds of clubs standing on each side, that are invade the banks of the rivers from April to September with their open-air tables."

To our surprise during the weekend there was the annual art exhibition (which I had no idea even existed) along the canal. More than 200 Italian artists showed and sold their pieces of art. It was amazing!

A dream

One of these nights I had a wonderful dream... It was about a dog. I never really said that before but I always wanted to have a dog. First, my parents claimed that I was too busy with school and after-school activities (music, language classes, sport, etc.). then I started my studies + some part time tutoring and so I was never at home. Now, even though I have a terrace and I still love dogs, I can't let this poor creature stay alone 8 hours a day without any company... So now I'm waiting to have a big house with a garden where I could have at least 2 dogs so that they play with each other when I'm away.. : ) Anyways, I had this strange dream about a Dalmatian... I never really considered to have this dog. Someone even once told me that they are not very affectionate and aren't good with children. In that dream I was going by car with my bf somewhere and by chance we were passing the dog pound.. My bf proposed to me taking a look but I didn't want to go in beacuse I know I would suffer a lot even looking at them and not being able to take some of them home. So I just said: "Just move on". But out of the blue, there is this 3 month old Dalmatian running towards our car, wagging its tail cheerfully : ) And to my great surprise my bf opens the car door and the dog jumps in! : ))) It was his present for me... without any occasion whatsoever! I was sooo happy in this dream! I wish it was true. Well, maybe one day?

Have a nice weekend, everyone! I hope to go skiing on the Mt Etna on Sunday!! : )) Yupppiii!!!! : ) By the way, does anyone even read it? Jo.

Difficult to describe me really. Definitely I am very complicated and ambitious... an aesthete.. sometimes a complainer. Neverhteless I would like to become Miss Independent. But no big words like sacrifice, dedication, devotion, etc... After all, I am a normal working girl who likes to go out, do shopping and having fun with her friends.
