This is what I would like to be. This is what I believe I can become. Maybe it's a little more difficult since I live in a small town in Sicily. On this blog I want to describe how my life here gradually changes and evolves. Describe my little successes and failures. Enjoy!

Let the show begin!

I'm sure lots of posts have been dedicated to FIFA World Cup in South Africa so far.  As soon as  I think of South Africa, I think of Nelson Mandela, the film "Evictus" and... Sarah. Sarah, a big hug to you from me! Unfortunately Poland didn't qualify so I will be rooting for Italians. No one really believes here that the miracle could happen twice (yeah, if you remember, Italy won the last World Cup 4 years ago). What are your picks? Today first 2 matches:

1) RSA-Mexico
2) France-Uruguay

Are you going to watch? I supposedly will. Not that I don't have a choice (because I don't, considering that I live with ex assistant referee) but also because somehow I am excited about this international event. And to make my bf angry, I will be counting on France (4 years ago the final match was between and France and Italy and the latter won the Championship by the skin of their teeth thanks to penalties : )

What are your plans for the weekend? Mt bf and I are going to Catania tomorrow afternoon and then on Sunday I'm "working": we are having the Sailing Tour of the Mediterranean Sea with the students. I would be exhilarated if it wasn't for my seasickness... Today I'm going to the pharmacy to get a bunch of remedies. Hope it will help.

Have a wonderful weekend, full of positive emotions and vibrations! : )) And don't scream too loud! Or get some lozanges... just in case ; )

PS. Would you believe me if I said that one of my friend bought this car...

...and I actually had a ride in it a few days ago? : ) Yes, this is the moment when I should hear a big collective sigh of envy : ))

Last weekend & Artù update!

Last weekend I worked. Well, maybe it's exaggerated if I call it work: on Saturday I went kayaking and on Sunday I went to Cavagrande, one of the most beautiful natural reserves in Sicily. I had fun, plus I got my first suntan this year : ) Accompanying students to these places is a part of my job. Isn't it great?! Unfortunately I didn't have my camera on the kayaking event, but I took some pics in Cavagrande. Take a look:

... and then, as I promised some posts ago, here's Artù. He's 23 kg now, still very lazy and still very sweet : )

And tell me who wouldn't like that!

It's almost weekend. And here in Sicily, summer is behind the corner! On "Apartment Therapy", one of the websites I have discovered recently, I found a post about pools, and looking at the pictures when it's getting hotter and hotter everyday outside leave me with my jaw sagged... literally : ) Come on, boys and girls, let's make a dive!

1. The Joule Hotel, Dallas, Texas:

2. The Standard Hotel, Los Angeles:

3. Rooftop Pool, NY:

4. Former Greta Garbo Estate, Los Angeles:

5. Alila Ubud Resort, Bali (Indonesia)

6. Private Residence, Tuscon (Arizona)

7. The Badeschiff, Berlin:

8. The Trojan House, Melbourne:

9. W Hotel, Hong Kong:

10. Transparent Pool

So what do you think? : ) Personally, I need short holidays... Happy weekend, everyone!

Sex and the City. Part 1.

As I was reading your blogs in the last couple of days, I couldn't but remain under impression that everyone is looking forward to Sex and the City 2. As I stated in one of your blogs, I really didn't understand what all the fuss about was... I don't know why, but seeing Sarah Jessica Parker before (only in pictures, of course!), made me think of an unfriendly, ruthless woman without heart and friends. She almost always has this serious, cold, withering look. I don't watch the series on TV, I'm not a fan of Carrie, I wasn't at all convinced I would appreciate watching it. Until yesterday. My bf was at some conference and I decided to make the big step on my own and I watched the Sex and the City part 1.

And you know what? I TRULY enjoyed it! It wasn't one of this pompous series where all the protagonists are stunning and perfect and at the same time, Carrie, as it turned out, was sweet and caring! The movie made me dream about Vivienne Westwood wedding dress and the closet John prepared for Carrie in secret... It resembled "Devil wears Prada" (which I love) to my mind. OK, maybe there are too many sex scenes and the language becomes a little bit obscene at times but after all, as the title suggests, it's "Sex and the City".

So in this case, I will have to start watching the series : ) There have been six, so far, haven't there? And the book, I heard. Has anyone read the book?? Is it good?

Alright, I am probably converted! : )

Difficult to describe me really. Definitely I am very complicated and ambitious... an aesthete.. sometimes a complainer. Neverhteless I would like to become Miss Independent. But no big words like sacrifice, dedication, devotion, etc... After all, I am a normal working girl who likes to go out, do shopping and having fun with her friends.
